Do
you have a tender, gentle touch?
If so, please consider fostering animals in need. Whether it's a litter of newborn kittens, an abandoned
puppy, or an adult recovering from a broken heart or broken bones, your
love and support can save lives!
We generally request that foster parents keep and
care for the animals until they are ready to be spayed/neutered and
prepared for adoption. Sometimes animals already sterilized will
be in need of foster care too, such as those recovering from medical
or emotional ailments.
Generally, it is best if you have a private room or
area of your home where the animals can live during their foster care.
Our staff will assist you in taking precautions for your resident
animals as well as the animals being fostered.
To volunteer for foster parenting,
please come to our sanctuary and fill out a foster application. We will then
contact you to schedule a new foster parent orientation.
| 1. Adults who need
socialization and help with behavioral issues. |
| Some of the rescued
animals have been denied much access to people and other
animals, characterized by low self-esteem and extreme
anxiety in new situations. They need to build
trust and confidence in a gentle environment. |
| 2. Adults
recovering from medical conditions. |
| Healing broken
bones often requires a long period of rest and
recuperation, best done in a home environment so that
kennels/cat rooms can contain others who are ready for
adoption today. |
| 3. Adults who are
battling depression or a broken heart. |
| We especially worry
about senior animals who lose their homes and families
in their twilight years, sometimes so confused and
distraught they stop eating. Longtime residents
sometimes also need a change of environment too. |
| 4. Adults with
long-term medical needs. |
| Heroes are
priceless for animals with severe birth defects,
traumas, and terminal conditions who need a comfortable
environment with a focus on good quality of life and
avoidance of suffering. |
| 5. Kittens,
puppies, and newborns in need. |
| This category
includes care for newborns, sometimes just hours old at
the time of rescue and motherless, to kittens and
puppies who can eat on their own but need a home
environment until they are ready for spay/neuter in
preparation for adoption. Please try to specify if
you are willing to take moms & babies. |
Thank you!
