Many who are new to animal rescue begin helping with projects outside of the facility. For instance, they sew scarves for the animals' web portraits, make small quilts and animal beds, organize supply & donation drives, and more. We will also be happy to help you find a niche here at the sanctuary, matching our needs with your skills and interests. Volunteer opportunities are wide-ranging and include the following:
Please be willing and able to make a 6-month commitment with a minimum of 6 hours of volunteer service monthly. Volunteer applications are available at our headquarters, open Fridays & Saturdays from 11am-5pm, Monday through Thursday from 11am-4pm, and closed on Sundays. Volunteers need to be at least 18 years of age, due to insurance liability. Please provide proof of a current Tetanus shot with your completed application. Note: Volunteers are required to attend orientation before handling rescued animals. Volunteer orientation dates are at 5 P.M. on June 7, 2010, July 7, 2010 & August 7, 2010. Please bring your completed volunteer application and proof of Tetanus shot to the orientation. Group volunteer projects need to be planned directly with Nevada SPCA's volunteer coordinator. Thank you very much for your interest in helping us save animals' lives! For more information, please visit Nevada SPCA at 4800 W. Dewey Drive in Las Vegas. (A map to the sanctuary is located, by link, on our homepage.) Thank you.
